Founded in 1896, making it one of Northern Ireland's oldest golf clubs, Helen's Bay is a great little parkland course that's not to be confused with the St Helen's Bay golf course in Rosslare Harbour.
It is situated adjacent to the Crawfordsburn Country Park and takes pride of place on the shore of Belfast Lough with panoramic views stretching from the Lough along the Antrim Coast and across the Irish Sea to the Mull of Galloway. The par three 4th is a challenging featuring high trees and a hard-to-hit green. Many of the holes, incidentally, use the pace of the greens as their defence. Three and four putts, then, are not uncommon! GREEN FEE KEY: £1-£15=£ £16-£30 = ££ £31-£50 = £££ £50+ =££££ |
