Course Description

Bright Castle is a hilly parkland course located off the main Downpatrick Killough Road, approximately two and a half miles off main road.

The course was founded in 1979 and designed by Arnold Ennis. It offers superb, inspiring views of the Mountains of Mourne.

And you will need all the inspiration you can muster if you are to succeed round here. The par five 6th hole was, until recently, the longest hole in European golf, measuring a whopping 735 yards from the back tees! The club had to trim a few yards - 120 to be exact - off the holes in order to comply with the rules, as a par six hole is not recognised for handicap purposes.
