This gem is barely two miles from the town centre on the Athenry Road. Set in 200 acres of mature parkland this tree-lined delight will test the mettle of even the most ardent of players. Saying that, holiday golfers can have their bit of fun, too. Relocated to its present location in 1974, the course was redesigned under the expert guidance of Ryder Cup hero Christy O'Connor Jnr. With over 150 species of trees, the course has many natural qualities and a growing reputation among locals and golfers from further afield. There are a number of great holes, including the 14th, which is a tight dogleg down to a beautiful green. |
