Powerscourt Golf Club, which sits 12 miles south of Dublin at Enniskerry in Co Wicklow, was designed by Peter McEvoy, who led Great Britain & Ireland to successive Walker Cup victories before acting as Garth McGimpsey's right-hand man when the Americans were beaten for a third match running at Ganton in 2003.

McEvoy has been involved in some cracking courses over the years and this ranks as one of the best. It has been built on beautiful parkland - Powerscourt is one of the most celebrated estates in Ireland - and from the course you get a lovely view of Sugarloaf Mountain.
