Donabate enjoys the unique situation of being one of the few parkland courses in Ireland to be situated just half a mile from the sea. The club was founded in 1925 and was extended to 27 holes in the mid nineties. It boasts three sets of nine that consist of a mixture of old and new for a refreshing and invigorating golfing experience.

The greens are now sand based and boast a hint of links-like style for a superb surface.

There are mature trees dotted all over the course and water comes into play on eight of the holes. Unless you are well positioned from the tee and careful with your club selection, you ball could find an unwanted watery grave.
