Peter McEvoy, the man who led Great Britain & Ireland to Walker Cup victories in 1999 and 2001 before serving as Garth McGimpsey's right-hand man as the Americans were beaten for the third match running at Ganton in 2003, designed the new nine holes which made Coollatin Golf Club into an 18-holer in 1998. The club is in Co Wicklow - you follow the N11 out of Dublin and head for Shillelagh via Rathdrum, Aughrim and Tinahely - and the course is parkland with large oak trees as its main feature. They provide an exciting challenge for players of all abilities and McEvoy has every right to be pleased with this piece of work. Catering is available in the clubhouse.
